Guide to Rinsing & Reusing Trigger Sprayers

Part of our sustainability initiative includes waste reduction and reusing plastics when available. Here are instructions on how to rinse your trigger sprayers and reuse them safely.

Step 1

Remove the trigger sprayer with the tube from bottle and rinse under warm water

Step 2

Using a container of warm water, immerse the trigger sprayer tube into water.

Step 3

While aiming into a sink or cloth, repeatedly squeeze trigger to flush the residual chemical from the spray head. Typically, ~15-20 sprays are needed to flush the nozzle, but more may be required. Theflush should be done until the warm water easily sprays from the trigger sprayer, and runs clear without any discoloration.

Step 4

Care should be taken if the trigger sprayer is being switched between two incompatible products. For this case, we suggest no less than 2 minutes of spraying to remove all existing residues from trigger sprayer after the solution runs clear (previous step).

The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the supply chain for trigger sprayers. We hope to use this opportunity to encourage our distributors to reuse their trigger sprayers after use.
