Handwashing Steps
Duration: 40-60 seconds
Step 1
Wet hands with water.
Step 2
Apply enough soap to cover all hand surfaces.
Step 3
Rub hands palm to palm.
Step 4
Rub back of each hand with palm of the other hand.
Step 5
Rub between and around fingers.
Step 6
Rub back of fingers to opposing palms with fingers interlocked.
Step 7
Rub each thumb clasped in opposite hand.
Step 8
Rub fingertips of each hand in opposite palm.
Step 9
Rinse hands with water.
Step 10
Dry thoroughly with a single use towel, if available.
Step 11
Use the same towel to turn off faucet.
