Overview

Disinfex is a ready-to-use, hospital-grade disinfectant cleaner designed for fast infection control on hard, non-porous surfaces. Because no measuring or mixing is required, staff can apply the correct concentration every time, helping reduce dilution errors, simplify training and improve consistency across multiple facilities.

The combination of a 5-second non-food-contact sanitizing claim and 5-minute broad-spectrum disinfection makes Disinfex especially useful for high-touch surfaces that must be returned to service quickly. It cleans, disinfects, sanitizes and deodorizes while remaining effective in the presence of organic soil.

Disinfex addresses pathogens relevant to healthcare, education and animal care, including norovirus, HIV-1, hepatitis B and C, MRSA, VRE, avian influenza and canine parvovirus. This makes it a strong choice for hospitals, long-term care facilities, schools, childcare centres, veterinary clinics, kennels, transportation facilities and other busy public environments.

Disinfex can also be used on compatible food-contact surfaces when followed by a potable-water rinse. It is registered by Health Canada as a hospital, institutional, food-premises and animal-premises disinfectant.

Where to use

Disinfex is ideal for hospitals, long-term care facilities, veterinary clinics, animal shelters, kennels, schools, childcare centres, offices, public buildings, transportation facilities, food-processing premises and food-service environments.

Suitable to use on compatible hard, non-porous surfaces such as counters, doors, walls, floors, desks, washroom fixtures, cages, kennels, exam tables, ultrasound probes and frequently touched shared surfaces.

How to use

Disinfecting and deodorizing: Remove heavy soil. Hold the container 15-20 cm from the surface and spray until completely covered. Keep the surface visibly wet for five minutes. Allow it to air-dry or wipe with a clean cloth, mop or sponge.

Non-food-contact sanitizing: Spray the hard, non-porous surface until covered. Keep it visibly wet for five seconds and allow it to dry. Pre-clean heavily soiled surfaces.

Food-processing premises: Remove or protect food and packaging. Pre-clean heavily soiled areas, apply Disinfex and maintain five minutes of wet contact. Wipe or allow to air-dry. Rinse all food-contact surfaces thoroughly with potable water.

Food-service surfaces: Apply to compatible countertops, appliances and tables. Maintain five minutes of wet contact, wipe and rinse thoroughly with potable water. Do not use on eating utensils, glassware, cookware or dishes.

Veterinary facilities, kennels and animal quarters: Remove animals, feed, litter and droppings. Clean surfaces with soap or detergent and rinse. Saturate surfaces with Disinfex for five minutes. Ventilate enclosed areas and allow surfaces to dry before animals return. Rinse equipment that will contact feed or drinking water with potable water.

Toilets and urinals: Remove as much water as possible. Apply 28-56 mL evenly around the bowl, scrub thoroughly and under the rim, leave for five minutes and flush.

Ultrasound transducers and probes: Remove gel from the external surface, wet thoroughly with Disinfex, maintain five minutes of contact and allow to air-dry. Use only on external surfaces.

Important: A potable-water rinse is recommended for surfaces or objects that may be mouthed by young children.
